On the afternoon of June 30, the Administration of Nanyang Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark organized all staff to learn the new version of Forest Law. All staff read the Law carefully. Fang Cheng, director of the Administration, explained the background and significance of the revision, main principles and content, and how to implement the Law in the next step. He led the staff to learn the Accurately Grasp the Revision Ideas and Basic Systems of the New Forest Law by Li Shuxin, deputy inspector of the Office of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.

After learning, everyone deeply understood that the development of forestry is an important step to build an ecological civilization and a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. Forests are critical to national ecological security. The revised Forest Law aims to build an ecological civilization, with the concept of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” and green development throughout the entire law. It has become the codes of conduct followed by the entire industry and society, and a major achievement in the construction of ecological civilization, creating a good environment for comprehensively deepening forestry reform. The revised Forest Law strengthens the protection of forest ownership, implements classified management of forests, emphasizes planning and unified leadership, strengthens the protection of forest resources, reforms the management system for forest logging, and strengthens target responsibilities and supervision and inspection.

The Administration will fully implemented the new Forest Law by carrying out various forms of publicity activities to highlight the principles of ecological priority, combination of conservation, and sustainable development, raising the awareness of the whole society to participate in forest protection, afforestation and greening.
