On October 27-28, 2020 China UNESCO Global Geopark Annual Meeting was held in Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, and Funiushan UGGp Administration actively participated in the meeting.

At the opening ceremony, Liu Yuan, inspector of the Department of Nature Reserve Management of the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. On behalf of the Global Geopark Network and Asia-Pacific Geopark Network, Jin Xiaochi, vice chairman of the Executive Board of the Global Geopark Network, congratulated the meeting.

After the opening ceremony, Zheng Yuan, director of the National Geopark Network Center Office, gave a keynote report on the 2019-2020 main work summary and the main work assumption for 2020. The new members of the Global Geopark Network, Xiangxi UGGp and Zhangye UGGp, respectively introduced the construction, development and management of the parks. Danxiashan UGGp, Huangshan UGGp, Lushan UGGp and other UGGp exchanged and shared experiences on the management and construction of geoparks.

At the closing ceremony, Guangwushan UGGp signed sister park agreements with five UGGps, including Songshan UGGp in Henan Province and Linxia UGGp in Gansu Province. Taking over the flag, Hunan Xiangxi UGGp became the host of the 2021 China UNESCO Global Geopark Annual Meeting.

Through the experience and field investigation of various geoparks, Funiushan UGGp Administration will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping' s ecological civilization thought, firmly establish the concept of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", be a practitioner of the theory of "two mountains" and adhere to the development concept of "protection, education and sustainability" in next step. Through our continuous efforts, Funiushan UGGp will become a bright pearl on the beautiful Chinese territory, and local people will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Global Geoparks. (Wang Yazhe)
