On November 17, the First GGN Digital Forum Online Conference was held at 12: 00-14: 00 GMT (20: 00-22: 00 Beijing time). More than 200 people, including official representatives of all GGN institutions, individual GGN members and honorary GGN members, were invited to the conference by GGN Executive Committee, involving many countries, and representatives of 41 global geoparks in China. At the conference, representatives discussed GGN activity report from 2018 to September 2018, geoparks and COVID-19, areas with strong resilience, digital activities of geoparks, etc. Jin Xiaochi, online representative of Asia-Pacific Geopark, delivered a speech at the conference.

On November 18, the UNESCO Global Geopark Conference was held online at 12: 00-14: 00 GMT (20: 00-22: 00 Beijing time) to discuss issues related to the UNESCO Global Geopark Plan. Kristof Vandenberghe, from the UNESCO, introduced The UNESCO Global Geopark Plan-Activity Report and 2020-2021 Field Mission of Geopark  at the conference. Guy Martini, chairman of the UNESCO Global Geopark Committee, explained The New Checklist Document and Notes.

Due to the epidemic situation, mid-term evaluation for the field trip of the global geoparks was postponed from 2020 to 2021. The latest information was released at this conference, providing guidance for the participation and development of all global geoparks. (Wang Yazhe)
