In order to meet the fourth mid-term revalidation in 2022, Funiushan UGGp made plans and preparations in advance. From March 7th to 10th, Professor Zhang Tianyi from Henan Academy of Land and Resources Sciences and Professor Li Jiangfeng from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) were invited to guide the preliminary preparations.
Upon successive expeditions into four parks, namely Song County, Luanchuan, Xixia and Neixiang, experts got to know the development of the work of the four parks in recent three years, and conducted inspection on Baiyun Mountain, Luanchuan Geological Museum, Xixia Dinosaur Relics Park, 311 scientific research line, Neixiang geological square and other scientific research sites.
The feedback meeting on preliminary preparations was held on 10th. At the meeting, the experts sorted out 12 opinions and suggestions put forward by the UNESCO Global Geopark Council on the 2018 mid-term evaluation of Funiushan UGGp. Then they came up with reasonable suggestions on the problems existing in the rectification of the Geopark. Fang Cheng, director of Nanyang Funiushan UGGp Administrion, highlighted that the fourth Mid-term Accreditation is the key work of Funiushan UGGp this year and next year, and that the success of the fourth Mid-term Accreditation should be guaranteed necessarily by the responsibility of professional personnel, the best time node, implementation of the work progress, and rectification in strict accordance with the guidance and suggestions of experts.
