From 15TH to 25th of November,Experts from Provincial Office of Land and Resources of Henan Province conducted assessments of Tongbai Mountain Provincial Geopark in Nanyang city, Baotianman National Geopark in Neixiang county and Funiushan National Geopark in Xixia county. Through the on-site inspection, work reports checking, inquiry etc, the experts acquired detailed information about the general situation of the geological sites and graded them on the formulation of the geopark, the conservation of geological heritages, the interpretation and signage facilities construction, science research and publicity, strategic partnership and local participation, information available, management, economic and social benefits, etc. The expert group gave a feedback on the evaluation.

        In addition, they praised the construction achievement of geoparks in Nanyang city and provided strategic advice on geopark construction and management. According the assessment, the Provincial Office of Land and Resources classified the qualification of the geo-sites with green card (pass), yellow card (warning), and red card (disqualification).

        The establishment of the assessment mechanism of geoparks in Henan province contributes greatly to the standardization of geopark construction and management, improving the quality of geopark construction.
