On JulY 16,the assessment of re-validation and expansion of Funiushan Global Geopark was officially launched. Experts Pål Thjømø and Yongmun Jeon, from the Executive Board of UNESCO Global Geopark Network, conducted an on-site investigation on Funiushan Global Geopark. 

On the first day,the experts investigated the Geological Square and the Local Magistrates’ Office in Neixiang county, the Geological Square of Funiushan Global Geopark and the Dinosaur Relics in Xixia county. Leaders from relevant departments accompanied the investigation, such as Zhang Zhiguang from the National Forestry and Grassland Bureau, Yang Shihai, deputy director of the Land and Resources of Henan Province, Professor Li Jiangfeng from China University of Geosciences （Wuhan City），Qin Zheng, president of Henan Provincial Institute of Land and Resources Science, Professor Zhang Tianyi, Ma Bing, deputy mayor of Nanyang city, Xu Jianchao, director general of Land and Resources Bureau of Nanyang City, Zhou Huafeng, head of Xixia county and leaders from Funiushan Global Geopark Management Committee. 

   At 5:00 pm, Funiushan Global Geopark Management Committee organized a report meeting on the re-validation and expansion of Funiushan Global Geopark, at which the construction work of Funiushan Global Geopark in the past four years was introduced to the evaluation experts in detail.
