From July 16 to 19, commissioned by the Executive Board of UNESCO Global Geopark Network, experts Pål Thjømø and Yongmun Jeon conducted the third evaluation of Funiushan Global Geopark. Engineer Zhang Zhiguang from the National Forestry and Grassland Bureau, deputy director Yang Shihai of the Land and Resources of Henan Province, Professor Li Jiangfeng from China University of Geosciences（Wuhan City), deputy mayor Ma Bing of Nayang city, deputy secretary general Zhao Shuzheng of municipal government of Luoyang City, president Qin Zheng and professor Zhang Tianyi from Henan Provincial Institute of Land and Resources Science, and representatives from Funiushan Global Geopark Management Committee participated in the evaluation. 

  The two experts with the accompanying officials investigated geological sites such as Local Magistrates’ Office in Neixiang county, Laojieling Ridge in Xixia county, Jiguan Cave in Luancnuan county, Laojunshan Mountain and Baiyunshan Mountain in Song county. They learned about the recent four years’ work of Funiushan Global Geopark through symposiums and the examination of materials on the geopark. The two foreign experts expressed their high prise on the achievements made by the geopark in these four years, meanwhile they provided precious advice on the standardization of signage, the diversity of local products, the improvements of tourism service, the education of science popularization and the conservation of geological relics. 

　At the feedback meeting on the expansion and evaluation of Funiushan Global Geopark held on July 19, Yang Shihai pointed that with the instruction and concern of the Executive Board of UNESCO Global Geopark Network, the construction capacity of Global Geopark was greatly improved in Henan province, 4 Global geoparks have been established, which have greatly stimulated the development of tourism economy and brought significant economic benefits for local residents.
