From August 8th to 11th, with the theme of“Summer Resort and ideal health-care destination, Nanyang Laojieling”, the 2017 China (Xixia Mountain Region) Workshop on Summer Tourism Peak was held in Laojieling Mountain, Xixia city, to study the new develop concept on summer tourism and deeply discuss the formulation about Laojieling

to be an ideal place of summer recreation and health care place. Sun Jian (director of the Public Weather Service Center of China Meteorological Bureau and chairman of China Meteorological Association), Li Zhongguang (vice-dean of China Tourism Academy, Li Yanqing (deputy director general of Henan Provincial Tourism Bureau), Chen Huailiang (deputy director general of Provincial Meteorological Bureau), Fan Shuangxi(member of Municipal Standing Committee and vice-mayor of Nanyang city) and other participants all attended the workshop.A leading county councilor of Xixia county presented the introduction of the summer recreation tourism of Laojieling.

During the workshop, the participating experts delivered their keynote speeches on the climate conditions of summer tourism in mountains, the prospects of summer tourism, the market response to climate resources of tourism, the big data on summer tourism, the guesthouses and special local products , summer entertainment and health care ,etc, which offered precious consultation and advice for the development of summer tourism in Xixia county. Sun Jian believed that the slogan of “Summer Resort and ideal health-care destination, Nanyang Laojieling” made a useful exploration and accumulated experience for summer tourism in mountain areas; Li Zhongguang suggested that it was necessary to focus on”summer resort+”, pushing Laojieling to be the key strategic status in tourism areas of Henan province, Shaanxi province (Hubei province and Shanxi province) as well as Zhengzhou city, Wuhan city, Xi’an city and Luoyang city, and building Xixia county to be the biggest summer resort and health care destination in mountains, which was not only in accordance with the developing rules of tourism and the regional and national policies but also meet the needs of tourists; the meteorological expert and senior engineer, Dr. Mu Jianli pointed out that the best summer resort must be at an altitude of 1000m-1800m with the temperature from 18℃ to 28℃, which makes Laojieling the only ideal place to satisfy the condition in the junctional area of Henan and Hubei.
